Forecast: Rosé

Rosé weather is nearly here! Not that rosé is exclusive to warm days—we enjoy sipping it year-round—but the sunny days ahead spurred us to add a lovely Washington rosé to our wine list.

Cedergreen Cellars’ Viola Rosé is a bright, Loire-style rosé made from a blend of Gamay Noir and Cabernet Franc grown, respectively, in the Yakima and Columbia Valleys. This food-friendly rosé is sunset-colored with hints of strawberries, citrus, and a splash of vanilla. It’s fruit-forward, but with a delicate balance of acidity.

Cedergreen Cellars has a tasting room in Woodinville and is owned by Kevin and Julie Cedergreen. Kevin, the winemaker, grew up in Eastern Washington and spent time learning to make wine in both Washington state and New Zealand. His well-priced wines have garnered numerous prizes and showcase some of the best fruit our state has to offer.
