Now Serving: The Latest Seasonal News

In 2021, we teamed up with Lil Woody’s for a riff on their famed bacon cheeseburger. The pizza was flat-out delicious, so, of course, it’s become a staple in our seasonal rotation. Marcus Lalario opened the first Lil Woody’s on Capitol Hill in 2011, and the burger shop has been turning out some of the city’s best ever since. Putting that burger on a pizza was an easy yes.
The Lil Woody’s Primo starts with our hand-tossed dough and an olive oil base, mozzarella, and seasoned ground beef, then piles on the classic burger fixings: crispy bacon, sweet onions, melted cheddar, tangy pickles, fresh tomatoes, and a drizzle of Lil Woody’s fry sauce. The pie tastes uncannily burger-like, and five years in, we still have fans writing regularly to find out when it will reappear on the seasonal menu.

The next two items showcase the best tasting tomatoes — local heirlooms, one of the highlights of summer. They’re grown for flavor, not for travel, and one bite tells you so. Our Summer Heirloom keeps it simple to give the tomatoes center stage: sliced heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, mozzarella, our seasoned tomato sauce, and a sprinkle of sea salt.

Those same tomatoes turn up in our Heirloom Caprese Salad. We take the Italian classic and load it with thick slices of ripe, aromatic tomatoes alongside fresh, creamy burrata, a Pagliacci favorite. Fresh basil, extra virgin olive oil, and a pinch of sea salt finish it off.

For dessert, think ice cream truck treat, only made extraordinary by Molly Moon’s. The Double Chocolate Ice Cream Sandwich showcases a rich, extra-fudgy chocolate ice cream, made by melting premium local and organic dark chocolate into a sweet cream base. That gets layered between two homemade brownies. Decadent from the first bite.
