Every Month has its Flavor…

At Pagliacci, our seasonal pizzas and gelato bring new flavors to the calendar. Local products and seasonal produce feature heavily in our offerings. For us, the sweet flavor of late July is the arrival of fresh heirloom tomatoes from Eastern Washington. The tomatoes are often bumpy, vibrant in color, interestingly shaped—and burst with flavor. Our ancestors grew them for taste, not ease of transport or shelf-life. Our Summer Heirloom pizza features the delicate tomatoes with fresh basil, mozzarella, our seasoned tomato sauce, and a dash of sea salt. 

And because we have heirloom tomatoes in the house, we’re also offering an Heirloom Caprese Salad. The classic summertime favorite features sliced heirloom tomatoes layered with fresh mozzarella and basil, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt. 

Our second seasonal this period came to us through a customer contest for best new pizza. We introduced it a few years ago, and it has now become a perennial favorite. Our Meatball Primo features Isernio’s Italian-style pork meatballs with pepperoncini, onions, sun-ripened tomatoes, asiago and mozzarella over our seasoned tomato sauce. Another beloved flavor of late July is juicy marionberries. Thorny vines along roadsides suddenly burst with ripe fruit. Oregon marionberries, with their bright, complex flavor, are the best, according to many blackberry lovers. They’re the flavorful heart of our seasonal gelato. Gelatiamo’s Marionberry Vanilla Cream features custardy vanilla bean gelato swirled with their juicy marionberry gelato. The silky-smooth result is a dreamy blend of sweet cream and tart berries.
