Get Ready to Ride at the Annual Zucchini 500

Racing season has officially begun! We’re excited to team up with the Neighborhood Famers Market Association for the Zucchini 500 Races. Featuring handmade summer squash roadsters, the aptly named Zucchini 500 is in its 16th year! Here’s how it works: Piece together your zippiest zucchini car, take it for a spin down the speedway, then join our ace crew for a dough toss.

If you missed the first two Zucchini 500 Races at the Phinney and Magnolia Farmers Markets, you can still join these race day events:

Lake City Famers Market, Thursday, August 22, 3 – 6:30 p.m.

Columbia City Famers Market, Wednesday, September 4, 3 – 6 p.m.

West Seattle Farmers Market, Sunday, September 15, 10 – 12 p.m.

As a second-year sponsor of the races, we were inspired to put this nutritious summer squash on a pie. Our Zucchini 500 Primo combines roasted zucchini and cherry tomatoes with Isernio’s chicken sausage and mozzarella on an olive oil base. This pizza will only be around through September 3, so catch it while you can!
